Astronomy around the World. Ancient Babylonian, Assyrian, and Egyptian astronomers knew the approximate length of the year. The Egyptians of years ago, for example, adopted a calendar based on a day year.

This great book is a collection of Times articles about Physics and Astronomy. There were some articles that surprised me, but in hindsight were a perfect choice. The one that comes to mind first is the article about one of the Times reporters visiting Hiroshima soon after the end of WWII/5(10).

The Astronomy Book has a much wider range of topics than deGrasse’s book (but that is because deGrasse spends a great deal more time and detail on astrophysics).

The Astronomy Book covers asteroids and meteorites, as it does the fascinating subject of the (possible) life on other planets/5(64). This book was developed at Simon Fraser University for an upper-level physics course. Along with a careful exposition of electricity and magnetism, it devotes a chapter to ferromagnets.

According to the course description, the topics covered were “electromagnetics, magnetostatics, waves, transmission lines, wave guides, antennas, and radiating. We are proud to present a selection of the latest high-impact publications* in Physics & Astronomy by Chinese researchers across from Springer Nature.

We hope you enjoy reading this selection and find it helpful. Wish you happiness, success and prosperity in the year of the Rat. All the articles & chapters are free to read until Feb.

29, Book • Edited by: Physics and Astronomy of the Moon focuses on the application of principles of physics in the study of the moon, including perturbations, equations, light scattering, and photometry. The selection first offers information on the motion of the moon in space and libration of the moon.

Topics include Hill's equations. Audiobooks in Astronomy & Physics. Astrophysics for People in a Hurry. By Neil DeGrasse Tyson. Duration: 3 h 41 min.
